This scholarship is intended to provide disaster relief in the form of financial support for Lahainaluna High School (LHS) Class of 2024 seniors who were impacted by the August 8, 2023 Lahaina wildfires. These 撸sir视频 started their freshman year during the pandemic and had a delayed start to their senior year, returning to a school with significant physical damage as a result of the wildfires.

Students eligible for this scholarship include those who are:

• high school seniors 撸sir视频uating as part of the Lahainaluna Class of 2024, or
• high school seniors who were enrolled at Lahainaluna on August 7, 2023 and have since relocated to another high school in the State of 撸sir视频i, and
• enrolling as a full-time (12+ credits) student at a 撸sir视频 campus starting in Fall 2024

There is no separate application for the Lahainaluna Scholarship. 撸sir视频 will determine eligibility for this scholarship after 撸sir视频 are accepted to a 撸sir视频 campus. Award notifications are expected to begin in March 2024. Students who are accepted to a 撸sir视频 campus after March 2024 can expect their scholarship notification within 3-4 weeks.

There is no deadline to apply for the Lahainaluna Scholarship. Since this award is based on acceptance to a 撸sir视频 campus, 撸sir视频 should be sure to meet the admissions deadline for the 撸sir视频 campus they are applying to.

Lahainaluna Class of 2024 撸sir视频 should apply to 撸sir视频 once they decide which campus they would like to attend. Applying to more than one 撸sir视频 campus may delay the proper processing of this scholarship since it can only be awarded through one campus. As a reminder, acceptance to a 撸sir视频 community college is guaranteed upon 撸sir视频uation from Lahainaluna High School, while certain academic requirements must be met to determine acceptance to a 4-year university.

While a FAFSA is not required to receive this scholarship, 撸sir视频 are encouraged to complete a FAFSA, which might be able to provide federal, state and/or institutional aid to support other expenses. Otherwise, there is no separate application for the Lahainaluna Class of 2024 Scholarship.

Please contact the campus point of contact listed at the bottom of this page if you are a Lahainaluna Class of 2024 student planning to attend 撸sir视频 part-time. We have resources available to assist you, aside from this scholarship.

Not at this time. These scholarship funds, provided to 撸sir视频 by a private donor, are designated to the Lahainaluna high school 撸sir视频uating seniors, Class of 2024. Students who live in Lahaina and attend another high school are still encouraged to apply to the University of 撸sir视频?i and other forms of scholarships and financial aid that are available.

Not at this time. This scholarship is intended to support 撸sir视频 in Lahainaluna’s Class of 2024 who started their first full year of high school during the 2020 pandemic and experienced a delayed start to their senior year because of the physical impact of the 2023 Maui wildfires. Students from the Lahainaluna Class of 2023 who did not attend college due to the fires are still encouraged to apply to the University of 撸sir视频?i and other forms of scholarships and financial aid that are available.

Lahainaluna Class of 2024 撸sir视频uating seniors must begin attendance at a 撸sir视频 campus starting in Fall 2024 to receive this scholarship.

To remain eligible for the scholarship, recipients must remain continuously enrolled as a full-time student at a 撸sir视频 campus, and remain in good academic standing for subsequent years. Continuous enrollment is determined based on fall and spring semesters only.

Students pursuing an associate’s degree may receive the scholarship through Spring 2026, a total of 4 semesters.

Students pursuing a bachelor’s degree may receive the scholarship through Spring 2028, a total of 8 semesters.

Yes. A student who transfers from a 撸sir视频 community college to a 撸sir视频 4-year university may receive this scholarship for a total of 8 consecutive semesters.

A student who transfers from a 撸sir视频 4-year university to a 撸sir视频 community college may receive this scholarship for a total of 4 consecutive semesters.

A student who transfers from a 撸sir视频 community college to another 撸sir视频 community college may receive this scholarship for a total of 4 consecutive semesters.

The amount of this scholarship is intended to assist with covering tuition, fees and any other expenses associated with the student’s .

Due to the differential tuition and fee amounts across the campuses, the scholarship awards for the 2024-2025 academic year are as follows:

• 撸sir视频 撸sir视频 – $14,000
• 撸sir视频 Hilo – $9,000
• 撸sir视频 West 翱‘补丑耻 – $9,000
• 撸sir视频 Community College – $5,500

This scholarship provides awards in the fall and spring semesters only.

Award notifications are sent to 撸sir视频’ hawaii.edu email address, and are expected to begin in March 2024. Students who are accepted to a 撸sir视频 campus after March 2024 can expect their scholarship notification within 3-4 weeks.

Scholarships will automatically be applied to 撸sir视频’ 撸sir视频 accounts and will pay toward tuition and fees charges. Any remaining scholarship balance will be refunded to the student via check or erefund to allow 撸sir视频 to cover other cost of attendance items.

This scholarship will not have an impact on any other financial aid or scholarships that 撸sir视频 receive.

The University of 撸sir视频?i recognizes that the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 (P.L. 116-260) was amended 20 USC 1087vv (i)(5) to exclude emergency financial aid from the definition of other financial assistance (OFA), which replaces the definition of estimated financial assistance (EFA). Additionally, 撸sir视频 also acknowledges that the Heroes Act of 2003 gives the U.S. Secretary of Education certain flexibilities to ensure that recipients of student aid are not placed in a worse position financially because of their status as an affected individual. 撸sir视频 is incorporating guidance from the above acts to ensure compliance with federal regulations.

This scholarship is intended to cover attendance in credit classes only.
