The University of 撸sir视频ʻi at Mānoa鈥檚 Isabella Kneeshaw became the first ever 撸sir视频ʻi athlete to earn Big West Freshman of the Year honors after an incredible first collegiate season.

Kneeshaw took home honors after winning the conference title in the 400m while anchoring a pair of Big West-title winning relay teams in the 4x100m and 4x400m relays. UC Irvine鈥檚 Kailah McKenzie will share the award with Kneeshaw.

On the final day of the Big West Championships, Kneeshaw helped the 4x100m relay team break the school record for the third time this year, running a 45.03 in the final to win. The freshman then closed strong in the 400m to pull away for the title in 54.01 seconds to post the second-fastest time in school history.

Kneeshaw capped off her meet by running the final leg of the 4x400m relay squad that took home the conference title in 3:39.47, coming within 0.37 seconds of the program record. She again ran a strong final closing stretch, pulling away in the final 100 meters once again to make the Rainbow Wahine the first team since 2017 to sweep both relays at the Big West title meet.

Two University of 撸sir视频ʻi at Mānoa athletes, Hallee Mohr and Tara Wyllie, earned spots in the NCAA West Regional, securing spots for next week鈥檚 national preliminaries.

Mohr will represent 撸sir视频 in the discus after winning the Big West title and setting a school record. The senior capped off her final conference championship dominating the Big West field in the discus and set a program record with a toss of 58.25m (191-1) and sits in 11th place in the west region. This also marks the third straight year that Mohr will compete at the NCAA West Regionals in the discus.

Wyllie will compete in the triple jump after finishing with the No.2 mark in the conference this season. The sophomore is the first Rainbow Wahine triple jumper to qualify for the NCAA postseason since 2015. Wyllie posted the No.2 outdoor mark in program history at the Stanford Invitational, jumping 12.77m (41-10.75) to better her fifth-best program mark of 12.69m that she posted the previous meet. Wyllie also won the MPSF indoor triple jump title in February.

The University of 撸sir视频ʻi at Mānoa team placed third in two national polls, marking the highest final ranking in the history of the Rainbow Wahine program and the Big West.

This season’s finish is also the highest for a Big West team since the conference began sponsoring women’s water polo in 2009.

The Big West champion Rainbow Wahine finished 23-4 in Maureen Cole’s farewell season as head coach and advanced to the semifinals of the Women’s National Collegiate Water Polo Championship last week in Berkeley, Calif. 撸sir视频 set a program record with an .852 overall winning percentage and became the first Big West school to reach the NCAA tournament’s final four since the ‘Bows’ semifinal appearance in 2013.

Six University of 撸sir视频ʻi at Mānoa student-athletes have earned All-Big West honors. Izabella Martinez and Maya Nakamura were both named to the all-conference second team, while Mya鈥橪iah Betha, Chloe Borges, Haley Johnson and Dallas Millwood all earned honorable mentions.

Martinez, hit a .298 overall and was tied for second on the team with 38 hits. She finished her 2024 campaign with six doubles and 22 RBI and a team-high of 19 walks. The junior catcher started all 46 games and threw out a career-high 15 runners trying to steal on her, which ranks her second in the league and 11th in the NCAA Division I.

Nakamura’s senior campaign was cut short due to a season-ending injury, however that did not deter the conference coaches from recognizing her abilities and importance to the 撸sir视频 team. For the season, she led 撸sir视频 both overall and in conference with a .312 and .450 batting averages respectively. She concluded her career with a .324 batting average with 155 hits, 105 runs scored, 24 doubles, four triples, 22 home runs and 96 RBI. She had a career slugging percentage of .528 and on-base percentage of .441. Nakamura has earned all-conference honors all four seasons of her career. This is her third time making the all-Big West second team after making the first team as a junior.

For the second-straight season, Bethea led the Big West with 12 home runs for the year. The senior utility player primarily played in leftfield where she started 38 games, but she also saw time in center field and at first base. Overall, Bethea led 撸sir视频 with 26 runs scored and a .575 slugging percentage.

Borges, the center fielder/pitcher had a breakout season, starting a career-high 39 games in center field and three at pitcher making 13 total appearances in the pitching circle overall. On offense, she finished the season tied for second in the Big West with 30 RBI. Overall, she hit .269 (28-for-104) with 13 runs scored, two doubles and eight home runs. She recorded a .519 slugging percentage and led 撸sir视频 with eight multiple-RBI games. She also reached base safely in 21-straight games to lead the ‘Bows.

Johnson earned honorable mention honors for the second time. She started all 46 games at designated player, but also saw limited action at catcher. Overall, she hit .310 going 39-for-126 with a team-high seven doubles with a triple and a home run and 11 RBI. She finished her collegiate career hitting .292 with 19 doubles, four triples, nine home runs and 66 RBI.

After suffering a season-ending injury in the second week of the 2023 season, senior first baseman Millwood worked hard to make her way back onto the field for her final season. She made her return this year starting all 46 games at first base. She finished the season hitting .261 with four doubles and three home runs. She was second on the team with 25 RBI and seven multiple-RBI games. She finished her 撸sir视频 career with a .260 career batting average with 80 hits, 13 doubles, 10 home runs and 60 RBI. This is Millwood’s second Big West honorable mention award.

The University of 撸sir视频ʻi at Mānoa team took home four individual event titles on the final day of the Big West Championship to finish in third place with 102.5 points.

The Rainbow Wahine posted a top-three conference finish for the third consecutive year and finished with five gold medals—the most ever by the program in a conference title meet. 撸sir视频 became the first Big West team since 2018 to sweep the two relays while winning both the discus and hammer throw titles, marking the first time a school has done that since 2017.

Montserrat Montanes i Arbo started in the hammer throw, capping it off with a toss of 57.74m (189-5) to complete a stellar series of 56.73m, 56.13m, 56.81m, 54.33m and 57.25m before her final throw.

The Rainbow Wahine 4x100m relay team Kristin Cook, Amy Warrington, Alyssa Mae Antolin and Isabella Kneeshaw won the program’s first-ever conference title by lowering their school record for the third time this year, getting around the track in 45.03 seconds to beat the field by over a half second.

Kneeshaw received another trophy by pulling away late to take home the 400m Big West title in 54.01 seconds. The freshman closed with a strong final 100m to become only the second Rainbow Wahine ever—and the first since 1985—to win a conference 400m title, posting the No. 2 time in program history.

撸sir视频 then capped off the meet by completing the sweep of the relays with a victory in the 4x400m relay. The squad of Warrington, Antolin, Kneeshaw, and Sammie Gordon crossed in 3:39.47, just .37 seconds off the school record, to claim the Big West title for the second time in three years.

The ‘Bows added to their point total with a number of other strong performances in finals Saturday. Hallee Mohr finished off a big weekend with a fifth-place finish in the shot put to add four points while Gordon came in tied for fifth in the high jump to add 3.5 to the team total. Antolin ran an 11.70 in the 100m final to come in sixth and add three points.

Emilie Kirk Langschwager capped off her freshman season with a fifth-place finish and four points in the 5000m with a 16:49.21 and two points and a seventh-place finish in the 1500m in 4:33.55. Langschwager became the first Rainbow Wahine in the Big West era to score at the conference meet in a flat distance event from 1500m and up (1500m, 5000m, 10000m).

Sophia Morgan is the last 撸sir视频 distance runner to score in an event from 1500m and up at the Big West title meet, coming in sixth in 2021.

2 team season came to an end with a 9-6 fall against California in the semifinals of the Women鈥檚 National Collegiate Water Polo Championship at the Spieker Aquatics Complex in Berkeley, California.

撸sir视频 junior Bernadette Doyle closed the season with a hat trick and sophomore center Bia Mantellato Dias scored two of 撸sir视频鈥檚 three goals in the first half to finish the season with a team-high 64. Goalkeeper Daisy Logtens made 11 saves and closed her freshman year with 211, the eighth-highest single season total in program history.

The NCAA semifinals capped Mauren Cole鈥檚 farewell season as head coach. Cole announced in November that she should retire following the 2024 season, and the Rainbow Wahine (23-4) gave her a historic sendoff that included the program’s ascent to its highest national ranking and NCAA tournament seed.

Cole spent 18 years in the program, starting as an assistant coach, and closed her career by leading 撸sir视频 to its eighth NCAA Championship appearance overall and fifth during her head coaching tenure. Associate Head Coach James Robinson will step into the role next season.

The season was also highlighted by 撸sir视频‘s first win over Stanford, two over University of Southern California, and a perfect run through the Big West season to claim the regular-season and tournament titles. 撸sir视频 posted its highest win total since 2001, and the 2024 Rainbow Wahine set a program record with an .852 winning percentage.

University of 撸sir视频ʻi at Mānoa athlete Raha Peiravani, is the recipient of the Elite 90 award for the 2024 NCAA Division I Women驶s Water Polo Championship recognizing achievements for the student-athlete鈥檚 academics.

Peiravani, majoring in finance with a minor in psychology, currently carries a 4.0 GPA. Peiravani was presented with the award during the championship banquet at the University Club in Berkeley, California.

The Elite 90, an award founded by the NCAA, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. The Elite 90 is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative 撸sir视频e-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA‘s championships.

Eligible student-athletes are sophomores or above academically who have participated in a sport for at least two years with their school. All ties are broken by the number of credits completed.

University of 撸sir视频ʻi at M膩noa men’s golfer Blaze Akana was named to the All-Big West first team.

Akana led the team with a 71.67 scoring average which is the second-lowest in program history behind Matthew Kodama’s 71.50 average in 2003-04. Akana was already ranked No. 2 after averaging 72.37 strokes per round last season, his first as a Rainbow Warrior after transferring from Sacramento State.

Akana is the first 撸sir视频 golfer to earn first-team all-conference honors since T.J. Kua was named to the all-Western Athletic Conference first team in 2012. Since 撸sir视频 joined to the Big West in 2012, no other Rainbow Warrior had earned first team honors.

He posted two Top 10 finishes this season and concluded his 撸sir视频 career with a final round 5-under 67 to tie for 18th at the Big West Championship. He posted a team-best 12 rounds under par including six in the 60s.

After spinning five perfect innings out of the bullpen in win over CSUN on May 3, Alex Giroux earned Big West Pitcher of the Week honors for the first time in his career.

The junior set down all 15 batters he faced out of the bullpen after entering the game with 撸sir视频 up 3-2 in the fifth inning to earn his fifth win of the season. Giroux ended with a line of five innings pitched with a season-high eight strikeouts.

Giroux preserved a one-run lead over the final five innings against one of top hitting teams in the Big West by becoming the first 撸sir视频 pitcher to retire at least 15 straight batters since 2021.

Giroux was dominant from the fifth through seventh innings, punching out six straight Matador batters over that span to keep 撸sir视频 up by one. He threw a first-pitch strike to 14 of the 15 batters he faced to pick up his second career relief win when pitching five innings or longer.

The Rainbow Warriors are tied for the longest active winning streak in the nation at eight games and host UC Riverside in a three-game series May 9–12.

The Big West champion University of 撸sir视频ʻi will face Princeton in the quarterfinals of the NCAA on May 10, at the University of California Berkeley.

The Rainbow Wahine were seeded No. 2 in the nine-team tournament and will make the program’s eighth appearance in the National Collegiate Women’s Water Polo Championship.

The winner of the match will face the winner of the match between UC Berkeley and Fresno State. The semifinal match will be at 1 p.m. HST Saturday.

This season, 撸sir视频 faced six of the other eight teams in the field and went 6-3 in those games. Two of the teams 3 losses were to UCLA, the No. 1 seed in the tournament.
